SO, YOU WANT TO BE A 1ST GORING SCOUT GROUP BEAVER, DO YOU?

The Motto of Beavers is ‘Fun and Friends’, and the programme is designed to ensure that this motto is met. There are a variety of badges that can be earned by participating in a number of activities like local knowledge, nature, safety, singing, handcraft and much more. The Colonies also aim to have fun and make friends.

It is very important that we maintain the correct levels of supervision at all activities, and it is for this reason that both of the Colonies have a rota of Parents to assist the regular Leaders and helpers. Your Beaver Leader will discuss this with you in more detail.

You will be invested once you are sure that you wish to join, by which time you will be ready to make the Beaver promise, which is: I promise to do my best to be kind and helpful and to love God. Mum, Dad and families are very welcome to attend the investiture, with a camera!

You will have also purchased your uniform, which is the Beaver sweat shirt, blue activity trousers and trainers at Colony meeting or school shoes on formal occasions, like Church Parade. We will arrange for you to be presented with your Group scarf, which costs £5. You will have a great time at Beavers and when you reach 8 years old you will be ready to move up to one of our Cub Packs.
